Before You Read Anything Else
A note from the founder.
I grew up on a small island off the coast of Honduras.
We didn't have endless choices. We had the stories that reached us. And because there were fewer of them, we paid closer attention.
Looking back, I realize that those stories shaped the way I experience storytelling. I never learned to ask what everyone else was watching. I learned to ask what stayed with me.
Years later, I found myself surrounded by more stories than I could ever watch. Access was no longer the problem.
Attention was.
That's why I created The Unconventional Curator. Not to keep up with every new release. Not to tell you what to think. But to build a place for stories worth remembering.
I should tell you what I am not.
I am not an expert critic. I never studied film. I'm just someone who grew up on a small island and, against all odds, fell in love with every kind of storytelling there is.
So I won't write to prove I'm right about stories. I'll write to show you what they left in me. And if something here touches your heart the way these stories touched mine, then TUC did its job.
Everything you'll find here begins with one simple question:
Did it stay with you?
If it did, there's a good chance it belongs here.
Curated by taste, not by hype.
